About this activity
Location: New Trier Winnetka CampusEntrance: (Door N19)Address: 385 Winnetka Ave, Winnetka, IL 60093 Winnetka Park District is excited to introduce Splashball, an engaging youth sports program designed to teach essential aquatic skills and introduce the fundamentals of water polo in a fun, supportive environment. Splashball is structured into three progressive levels based on each athlete's ability and experience, ensuring every participant develops confidence and competence in the water while having a great time.Splashball is designed to bridge the gap between learn-to-swim and the sport of water polo for children 5-14 participating in a Splashball Program. The intent is to provide basic skills and understanding of the sport in a recreational format. Although water polo is known for its toughness and endurance, Splashball harnesses all the fun, dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn aquatic experience that will motivate kids to swim and stay fit.Athletes learn the fundamentals of swimming and water polo in a step-by-step program of specific skills that teach students to master all the skills needed to be safe in the water and proficient as competitors.• Groups have a maximum of 6 athletes per instructor.• A program supervisor is available for every lesson to assist instructors, evaluate athletes' progress, and answer parents’ questions.• There are 3 levels in our program, and athletes can advance to each level immediately as required skills are mastered.• Minimum requirement is an athlete able to swim 25 yards. • Athletes reaching level 3 will have the opportunity to be placed on the Age group water polo team.
