A parent cooperative preschool affiliated with 501c3 nonprofit Oak Leaf Cooperative School, is a mixed-age, play-based nature preschool run by parents and an experienced early childhood educator. Parents and teachers work collaboratively to shape and manage the program. Parents can choose to volunteer in class or behind the scenes.Oak Leaf Forest Preschool supports a child’s fundamental need to explore. We foster curiosity and social emotional skills through our emphasis on play-based learning. The outdoor setting encourages immersive hands-on experiences while allowing for spontaneous learning opportunities and strengthens a child’s connection to the environment.Classes take place entirely outdoors, in all seasons, at Crow Island Woods, a 17-acre Winnetka Park District nature area. In the event of severe weather, classes will be held at nearby Winnetka Presbyterian Church. Children must be potty-trained, or a parent/caregiver must be available to change a diaper or pull-up.This co-op is led by experienced Waldorf teacher Elizabeth Kelly. Please contact Ms. Kelly to discuss readiness for younger children (2.5-2.9 years old)Payment options:1) Pay in Full or 2) Payment Plan. Payment Plan requires a saved credit card on file. Nine equal payments will be made. First payment at the time of registration and eight monthly payments (September 1, 2025 – April 1, 2026).Payment Plan is not available for online registration - registration must be submitted in-person at Administrative Office.Enrollment options:Two day MINIMUM registration minimum required.
